Solarider,
Point #2 is quite easy to understand. You see, Pentax makes both the Q and the K-5, so if the Q (and possibly K-01) fail, in turn sinking Pentax, then the company that makes the K-5 goes away. It is a very clear connection. Pentax financials have been mediocre at best. The parent company Ricoh is sitting at -4.36 EPS and announced 10,000 layoffs in the last 8 months. Ricoh will cut their losses if the Pentax roadmap goes haywire, and the Pentax UK folks will be pointing out resume tips.
As for #1, it wasn't a justification, as that often implies a defensive posture. I was providing the data points from my systematic approach to a decision. My purpose was to mention it briefly in case someone in the thread had any insights I may have missed, or in case someone is in the same boat trying to make a similar decision. I expect other disillusioned SLT folks may be doing the same thing I am.
At any rate, thank you for providing feedback on my post, and I hope the above clears up your confusion. I appreciate insightful comments.

Note: If you'd like I can provide some random links to negative "Q" reviews, since you are apparently think that proves something. Emoticon - grin.
