Image Processing

Thanks everyone for your input- it was very informative. After spending an obnoxious amount of research time, I decided to go with a Sony a580 body, and I'm switching my PP to DXO. I looked at Capture One, and a few other packages, but DXO was easy and gave great results. I'm selling the Tamron, as I've decided the 16-50mm range is wide enough for my needs, which means I don't need DXO to support it either.

Although I really like the K-5 but it came down to two major items:

1) Lenses: Nothing comparable $$ wise to replace my Sony 35mm 1.8, 50mm 1.8, or 70-210mm F4. As for my main lens, the 16-50mm F2.8 Sony, the equivalent on the Pentax side costs $200 more, is of the same or lesser optical quality, and appears to have valid quality concerns. I know, the Tamron 16-50 is good, auto focus speed is important to me.

2) The Pentax/Ricoh future is unclear, especially given the apparent failure of the "Q" series. The K-01 doesn't look all that shiny either. Why would you turn your next-gen body design over to some funky designer when so much is riding on it? and no evf/ovf OR tilt screen? Crazy.

I like the K-5, I just can't do it given the above.
