If you thought the previous 'ultimate' DSLR was the D700 then

YES.

It was an amazing camera for the money. It's FF hi-res, light sensitive sensor.

( along with, when you buy a camera, you are not JUST buying the sensor and it's ADC and NR algorithms, and in camera features, you are buying into the 'system' which most importantly includes the lenses, ( thus why Leica held a place of prestige for the last 50 yrs it wasn't just the price, it was the lack of Coma, and Distortion and Sharpness and Color and Contrast )

If you thought the D3X was the best, for it's superior image, or if for you the D3S was the ultimate with it's light sensitivity and speed and resolution, and PRICE was not a factor in your (personal) evaluation of the 'ultimate' DSLR then,

NO.

You will prefer the D4X with it's 100 MP Sony Sensor (clean images to 2800+ ISO ), to be Alpha in Sept 2012, Protoype Beta in Feb 2013 and released (late) in Nov 2013
or

You will prefer the D4S with it's 36 MP sensor, ( with a possible AA LP filter that is electronically on/off switchable ) and the same fps speed, the same 4800 ISO clean images.
