Which to buy EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM or EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM Lens

Money is not the issue. I have read and heard that the 4L has a bit sharper image. Is this true? The 2.8 will be valuable to me but how much in picture quality would I really loose if much at all?
