I also have both, the G1X only recently so have not experienced RAW, just JPEGs out of camera, which I find better in all the key aspects to what the R1 can produce. Lens wise I am not sure I agree with Adam, that old Zeiss lens at 24mm is still capable. (Conversely the 28mm wide end for the Canon may not be wide enough for landscapes)

I think you will get more out of the G1X in the long term, think high ISO. Macro on both is fairly limited. The rear display on the Canon is more useful when composing obviously. I keep the R1 for sentimental reasons, and it's great to use with an 8 or 10 ND filter.
