Hhhhmmmm - if you'll forgive me for expressing a personal opinion, I think this comes in the category 'overdone'. Just as HDR is a 'technique' that, through overuse, has done disservice to landscape photography as a genre, so equally the availability of selective enhancement of eyes in portraits has led to the expectation that eyes should 'stare' for the portrait to be effective. The effect here looks to me frankly rather creepy, and I prefer the original. I remember, some time ago, when I was restoring an old photo of my great-grandmother, enhancing the eyes in a similar way. At the time I thought it looked rather cool. Looking at it again more recently, I think it made her look like a rather scary lunatic. But it is all a matter of taste, I guess ...
