There are many examples of expensive goods that cannot reasonably described as "professional."

Can any of your examples (other than the D800) autofocus in EV -2 light? Can any of your examples withstand bad weather? Do any of your examples have the capability to focus track subjects? Do any of your examples have the capability of shooting at ISO 25000?

These are professional features. What professional features does the Leica M9 have? I suspect there are more Leicas owned by professional dentists than professional photographers.

Great points! No so called 'professional' would be caught dead doing studio work, but if they absolutely had to, a 'real pro' would set off the sprinklers, turn off the lights, tell the models to run to and fro about the set, so they could use their EV-2 multi-predictive focus AF shot at ISO 25,000 with the confidence of thirty O-rings. Vastly superior pros would contain a chuckle, knowing they have a scene mode for 'flooded studio mayhem action', and do the entire shoot with their eyes closed.
