A couple of G1X shots
Mar 13, 2012

Well, with rain, rain, and more rain, I haven't really gone out to get anything done but some "test" shots. I've found the default G1X JPEG color and contrast to be a bit on the low-contrast, unsaturated side of things, with a slight tendency to have a bit of a greenish tint to things. So, I've played with the My Colors settings quite a bit, and that's what I've used every bit of available sunlight for, since I got my hands on my G1X.

But, here are a couple of sample shots:

Here is the usual brick house shot:

Definitely on the contrasty and saturated side, but that's how I like to see this shot. It looks a bit garish in my web browser, with my extended-gamut monitor, but in my calibrated image viewer, it's pretty much right what I want to see.

And here is a bit of an evening shot, with a bit of negative exposure compensation dialed in for effect:

Meanwhile, we just started a week-long weather system that has been described as "the biggest winter storm of the season," so it's not likely that I'll have much more to show, anytime soon. Hopefully, some day I'll have some interesting shots to share.
