Do i Need 36 megapixels?

If you downsize most of your images, the improvements will be IMO modest. The sensor will have a better dynamic range than the older cameras, but if you mostly shoot for web, the size of the files might be a turn off. It would be for me.

also think about the video... do you need it? if not you are also not using the full potential of the camera.
