Overexposure with Minolta 50mm 1.7 & a77

A 50mm 1.7 Minolta Maxxum lens I'm using on an a77 is consistently overexposing at least 2 stops in every mode. The only way I get a correct exposure in in manual by underesposing 2+ stops. The other Minolta lens 100-200 f4.5 works fine. Is there some particular issue with the 50mm I should be aware of before I complain?
