SEL16F28 packaging question

My SEL16F28 arrived today. I was totally surprised to see that it did not come in a box, like the VCL-ECU1 or the VCL-ECF1.
Also, there was no black box with zipper like the one that came with the VCL-ECU1 and the VCL-ECF1.
The SEL16F28 was just wrapped in bubble plastic.
Is this normal?
