R2000 + mac 10.6.8 does excessive auto cleaning cycles

Hi everybody

Done a search on the forum, found some bits of evidence for other printers than mine so here is my question:

I have a brand new Epson R2000 printer since a few days, quality is lovely BUT the printer does a full-blown head cleaning cycle every 10 prints / two days or so. Each cycle sucks up 5-10% of the cartridge so I can easily imagine that this printer is the most expensive bit of kit I ever bought in running costs.

From other messages posted here about the R3000 and R2880 I understand that it is either an annoying mac driver bug (this occured for the R3000), or this is part of the priming process and will disappear in a few days/weeks.

Any R2000 user willing to share experience?
