Remember to turn off Steady Shot when using Tripod!
Mar 10, 2012

I took some long exposure photos yesterday with the SEL18200 (both night and day) and realized that the long exposure shots were strangely much worse than with the kit 18-55 lens.

Experimented with shooting a cushion with steady shot on and off and here is the result.

It is not as bad on the 18-55 (from memory, I do not have the kit lens with me now) maybe the 18200 has more "powerful" OSS?

Thankfully I've learned this lesson on the first day of my vacation.. and always "pixel peep" my photos when playing it back on the LCD.
