Hi Buzz,
I have the set and was lucky enough to get it for free when I renewed my subscription to NAPP a couple of months ago. I am pretty sure it did originally sell for $179 (with maybe a 15% or 20% discount from NAPP a couple of years ago). I bought her first set for about $120 and liked it but didn't want to spring for the second. (Considering what Scott Deardorff is charging for his 2nd DVD with shipping (around $150), it doesn't sound so pricey.
Anyway, I have finished the first DVD and learned quite a bit and enjoyed her teaching style. I especially enjoyed the lessons on doing eyes as I hadn't seen any really great tutorials on that subject. The first DVD is all done in Photoshop. I haven't had a chance to view the 2nd one yet, but I think it is all done in Painter. You also get several free Painter brushes. If you are already a NAPP member, there is a free video by Fay out on the NAPP site covering the new mixer brushes in Photoshop as well (but I think that was geared more toward painting in general as opposed to animals specifically). Anyway, at $24.95 I think it is a good deal. Free, of course, was fantastic.
Regarding her accent, it is heavy, but I think it is more foreign -- Greek maybe? -- than "New Jersey".
