New Nikon FF Camera?

What do people think of the chances of a new Nikon FF camera this year that is cheaper than the current D4/D800 options? Something around the size of the D90.

Here's my problem: I'm about to buy my teenager their first DSLR and being a teenager (they have a knack of breaking & losing things), I don't want to throw too many dollars at it. I'd also like them to initially learn on a quality fixed lens, say a 35mm or 50mm rather than some cheap kit zoom lens. Now, I have a bag full of FF lenses that they could gradually learn to use, so again I don't want to be stumping up for a DX lens if I don't absolutely need to.

Am I dreaming?
