Hey guys, atm i have 8mm Samyang for ultrawide, and the 16-50 for all-round use. While i think the 16-50mm make a decent portrait lens i cant help but think that adding the 85mmf2.8 will be just a little better at bokeh in portraits. 85mm users how do you find this lens?

I (we) have the 85mm f2.8 and use it on both ff and aps-c (a200).

It gives you approximate 18 degree diagonal view on aps-c, which is almost what 135mm is on ff, nice for head or head and shoulder shots with aps-c.

I did some "testing":

So far, very happy.

i had the 35mm so i know about the noisy focus, doesnt bother me for non video work.

Any examples of portraits with this lens would be greatly appreciated. Basically any advice on a lens suitable for portraits with a creamy bokeh

On aps-c I'll say the 85mm f2.8 sam or the samyang 85mm (all manual) is your lens.

that doesnt cost a fortune (135mm )

Thanks
