18-55 - the black one

Previously posted that I had previously used two silver 18-55mm sel lenses.

Received my black one today. Did my usual boring test shots and found the following.

The last ones had issues wide open on one side or another looking soft or out of focus. This one does not and at 27mm f3.5 there is nothing like there was on the previous lenses.
By f5 everything is looking good to me and I am rather fussy.
At the 55mm end it looks a smidge better across the frame than the last ones.

Going to look through my previous pics to see if I kept any of the old ones I took with the previous lenses.

Reality check - it does not compare to, for example, my oly 24mm for sharpness across the frame and I never expected it to.

Very happy with it but it is probably more to do with sample variance, being a mass produced item, rather than because it was made in Japan as opposed to Thailand.
