Canon 5D3 UK prices

I asked Canon this at their stand at Focus on Sunday....

I asked why the price was so high, they said that retailers would cream it at the launch price as for some reason they have to sell at RRP.

However, after 6 months (it may even be 6 weeks) retailers are allowed to start discounting the camera.

The rep said they expected the price to be more like £2400-2600 after the inital launch period.

How much truth there is in all this I'm not sure.... but it did come straight from Canon!
