tag automatically in (or prior to) lightroom ?

it's currently organised by dates and major location, so your solution could help for that at least, but then I need to cross tag by type (portrait, scenery, etc..) and by people on the pictures, so face recognition, or search and selection of images with similar composition would help even more.
Is there a way to import tags ?
