More sample images 5D III

I guess that I am used to the pixel level sharpness of the 5D looking at RAW images in DPP, but just like I considered ISO 100 official Canon images of the 5D II very plasticky (remember the glacier picture), the 5D III ISO 100 images are much the same (e.g. Corsica, Slovenia). In your experience, do your 5D II RAWs look better than these JPEGs?

The only picture I like at the 100% pixel level is the Still Life with the TS-E 90mm.
Maybe I'm just too spoiled with the 5D.

But in contrast, I found the sample images of the Nikon D800E looking excellent.

Why can't these Canon JPEGs out of the camera look like what we get out of DPP? (I refer here to my experience of sharpening/detail extraction of the original 5D in-camera JPEG vs DPP processed RAWs)
