Not necessarily. It is all a tradeoff.

The f/4 AF points allow the use of slower lenses, but they are not as accurate as the "precision" f/2.8 AF points when using fast lenses.

That sounds great in a white paper or taken in absence of real scientific tests and results involving actual camera hardware.

Do we really know that this is true?

It very well may be the mark iii hardware, processing, and implementation make it more accurate compared to a mark ii.
