Size matters: Humorous comparison of E-M5 to D800
Mar 3, 2012

Assuredly different target audiences, but I found the difference in size, heft (D800 body is 2 pounds, E-M5 a bit over 3/4 pound) and price (D800 $3000, E-M5 $1000) bordering upon humorous nonetheless.

Both weather-sealed magnesium alloy bodied enthusiast cameras, both will take great photos, and while the D800's FF 32MP sensor certainly has significant advantages for some shooters, which is more likely to be slung around your neck when that special photo opportunity pops up?

Here it is with a few other Olympus cameras thrown into the mix. It even manages to make the E-5 look rather svelte, no mean feat!

And with the D4 thrown in...

The future is mirrorless.
