Image Data Converter Ver 4 hangs

Running IDC 4 on Win7 x64.
In the main thumbnails screen it seems to repeatedly refresh the thumbnails for no obvious reason.
When I try to process a raw file, all seems OK, for a while, and then IDC just hangs (while apparently continuing to scan the image directory in the background).
Has anyone else experienced this behaviour or found a solution?
