I don't see sufficient advantage to the Sony lenses for most applications. Given its good pricing, the Tamron will get the nod.

I don't think I've even tried jpeg on my a65 so can't comment on incam corrections.

I would have to think carefully about paying 3 x the price for a lens with questionable build quality and overall slightly inferior optics or if push comes to shove optics that are no better than the tamron.

The Sony 16-50 has many advantages over the tamron such as build quality, focusing, weatherproofing and between central sharpness but corner performance is questionable, I suppose it boils down to what you want from a lens.
