Advice on sluggish Safari please

I've had a quick look and they seem to be exactly what I need. Haven't had time to follow anything up just yet, but will get to work on it as soon as I can.

It is reassuring that the problem is known to others, and there seems to be a way around it. I need to procede with caution as I am not technically fluent and normally never go near the settings, but I'm going to follow the advice given.
