Sigma 70-200 F2.8 or Pentax 60-250 F4

The SDM motor on my DA* 50-135 failed a while back. I've put off getting it repaired because I don't use it often enough to justify the €200+ it's going to cost.

While using it last week, focusing manually , I realised that the focus on this lens is a real lemon in either auto or manual, and I'm wondering if I should just leave it broken
and get one of the lenses above.

The problem is, do I buy another SDM lens with a wider zoom range or change to Sigma's HSM which seems to be reliable.

Which has the better image quality. If Pentax offered an extended warranty (3 yrs) on their SDM lenses, I'd probably stick with them as the DA* 16-50mm is on my camera permanently and is both reliable and built like a tank.
