One thing about living in the Australian Outback when word gets out that you are a bit of a photographer is that all kinds of opportunities open up for you.

Whether it is photographing the RAAF acrobatic team or the local bush fire brigade.

There are less restrictions far away from the prying eyes of officialdom.

I doubt that I would get on the apron at an official air event or that close to a helicopter transporting aviation fuel across a flooded river.

The photo's of the bushfire I was allowed to photograph because I was asked to help in a bit of back burning around the town.
I never realised just how hot it can get close up!

So yes my thoughts go out to the photographers but more importantly to the crews involved.
