E-PM1 low light focus quite disappointing.

Last nite I tried shooting in less than ideal light, but not in total darkness.
My previous experience shooting under these conditions was with a Canon DSLR and their dedicated flash or the Speedlite transmittter ST-E2.
The Speedlite or the transmitter both emit infrared red to help in focusing.
It works just perfectly and is very fast and almost unnoticeable.
You can actually shoot in total darkness with this attachment and it focuses perfectly.
So my question now would be: does Olympus make anything similar to this transmitter? Does maybe their flash emit an infrared ray which helps focus in darkness?
I know that I can ise the focus assist LED, but this really draws attention, which is not what I want.
The E-PM1 just will not focus under dim conditions.
