80-200afs vs 70-200 vrll

My 80-200afs went dead a few months ago so I shippe
d it to Nikon for a new focus motor. In the meantime, i bought a new 70-200vrll. So after a few months of working with the vrll, I can honestly say i'm really glad I didn't get rid of 80-200.
First, the vrll is too small around the zoom ring. Who's designing this stuff?
Second, IQ was equal but the focus speed was a big difference. Seems the vrll was always searching. I like to use 51dynamic AF and you can see points light up allr over the viewfinder. Not so with the 80-200, I actually had to check to see if it was on.
Third, the vignette was bad, i'm mean real bad on the vrll.
Another thing, anyone hear about Nikon not releasing parts for service?
thanks,
apice
