It's one of the Seven Sisters, a series of skyscrapers built from 1947 to 1953. This one (the one on the right) is actually a hotel, Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya. You can see another Sister in the background to the left, the Red Gate building. The largest of the Seven Sisters was the tallest building in Europe until 1990.

The location of the hotel is quite practical if you either arrive or return to St. Petersburg with the Sapsan high speed train (less than 4 hours).
