PC RAM question
Feb 24, 2012

I may try something different instead of getting a new PC.

I currently have a dual core 2Ghz computer that is a 64 bit computer but it is currently running 32 bit XP. The specs on my computer say that the max RAM I can put in the computer is 4GB.

If I were to upgrade the OS to Windows 7 64 bit would I then be able to put more RAM in? or will I still be limited to 4GB because of the motherboard? I would think if the machine has dual core 64 bit processors that the motherboard would not limit to 4GB but I am not certain.

Can anyone shed some light on that.

Thanks,
Ron
