Because we're a materialist society. We have forums like this which basically always recommends more expensive equipment as a solution to often simple problems.

If this is what you actually think you can accomplish and looks good, you can save yourself a lot of money and buy the cheapest lenses available.

Hint: If this works so well, why doesn't everyone do it and not buy expensive lenses.
