Your mid June trip is probably the best choice for timing. It's a rain forest but sometimes June can be very nice. I remember a very dry June in Juneau once with 2 weeks of no rain. Creeks were drying up and people were freaking out about what it might do to the fish. But it's hard to find a prettier place than S.E. AK when the Sun shines.

I agree with the others; what you have will probably work fine. A 500 or 600 f/4L could be a really nice addition in some places, especially with a TC attached. But those monsters are a lot more to pack around, and I'm not sure how shooting from the ship would be with them. Can't imagine the boat being steady and vibration free enough to use a tripod on deck, but I've never taken a cruise. If your goal is capturing wildlife, you cannot get a lens too long.
