tripod mount strength on NEX-7 (compared to VGx0)

Hi,

Has anyone got any experience on how sturdy the NEX-7 mount-point is? I own a VG10, which had a very poor mount, to the point where others on this forum where machining their own replacements ( https://vimeo.com/groups/nexvg10/forum/topic:245998 ).

I intend to use the NEX-7 in 'gun style', with a monopod grip. I will probably only use the 16mm lens with WA adapter in this configuration, although this didn't stop the VG10 from breaking :-(. I just want to find out if the same issues plague the NEX-7. I do not think the NEX-7 lends itself easily to a plate solution, but not an expert..

(By the way, if anyone has a mounting plate to sell in the UK, would be interested, as it will take too long to ship one from the US, it seems)
