D90 Video Jitters Getting Worse
Feb 18, 2012

I've had my D90 for 2 1/2 years. Recently, I've noticed that the video clips are having more and longer jitters then when the camera was new. My shooting style has not changed in that I've always used a monopod. Switching to a tripod has not lessened the jitters. Ironically, the less jittery clips done when the camera was new was with VR "ON" and no consideration to setting an exposure time shorter than the frame rate. Shooting video now with VR "OFF" and at 1/50th second shows no improvement in video quality. Currently when possible I have to shoot scenes 3 - 4 times longer than needed hoping to get a useable segment jitter free. When editing the jittery clips, I've used the stabilizer in Premier Elements 10 which made the unstable video even worse.

Is it possible that when the sensor ages, the video degrades?
