The Jesus Lens

Maybe the D7000 is actually God!
Let me explain. Two years ago I totally flooded my Sigma 17-70 in a freak accident in a reflecting pool. I'm talking full submersion for what seemed like minutes, more than likely it was no more than 30 seconds. The Fuji S5 it was mounted to was toast. I worked with the lens over the next two days zooming it in and out to bring water out along side the barrel. (the 17-70 is not an internal zoom) I eventually got it dry enough to use as a manual focus lens, the AF was toast though.
Good enough I thought. I can at least use this lens in MF.
Time marches on. I buy a D7000. Guess what? When I mounted the 17-70 to the D7000 it began to auto focus again! I have no idea how or why this happened but it did. And so now, with great reverence and affection, I refer to this lens as my "Jesus Lens".
