Info on Radiation
In reply to noneyabidnis, Feb 18, 2012

I made a bit of research on this subject (superficial):

Radiation exists in nature, to which we have to add man made radiation.

Natural radiation varies a lot, but as altitude increases radiation tends to proportionally increase.

It is normal to get between 40 and 80 CPM in some cities in the US, which is about 0.5 millisievert per hour.

In Rome, Italy, this value is about 0.2 millisievert per hour.

It seems to be accepted that below 1 millisievert per hour the levels are safe.

In Sendai, the levels this week are 0.051 millisievert per hour, that is 10 times less than the natural radiation in the US and 40 times less than in Rome...

So, guys, I wouldn't worry to much about it.

By the way, I'm not an expert in these matters, but if you Google in search for data, it is widely available in great detail.
