Yes, I did Google this and found same pages you posted. It is weird though that nobody on this forum experienced this problem. Later this week I may have time to take the printer to Canon authorize service center and see what the problem is. I just hope it can be fixed permanently. My i9900 served me for 6 years without a problem and still works for my friend. Pitty the new "PRO" series is not as reliable.....
