Even with an FX camera, 85mm is a bit long for hand-held video.

Why would you shoot video handheld? I can't wait for my 85 1.8G for both portraits and video. My favorite FF lens was the Canon 135 f2 - this puts me right in that FL range. Great for isolating subjects in video too. On a tripod, using a follow focus, basically all the right gear for the job.
