GX1 versus G3. What am I missing?

Hi alll.
I'm in the market for a small, lightweight system for when I don't want to carry around my Canon 1D4.
I've been looking at the Pany GX1 and G3 models and although there are some differences they seem to be really very similar. Aesthetically I prefer the GX1 but for the price it doesn't seem to compare well with the G3.
The G3 has a built in EVF and a flip out screen.
I can use an external flash as well as having an EVF on the G3 which I don't believe is possible on the GX1.
Other than that the sensor is the same, they have similar levels of external controls/buttons (GX1 marginally better but not by much).
So given that the G3 has all that going for it and is about £100 cheaper with the standard kit lens, why would I get the GX1 (other than that it is a bit prettier)?
Am I missing something?
Regards
Darren
