D800 ISO 50 so creamy!
Feb 14, 2012

I mentioned this in another thread that it'll be probably lost in so just though I'd start a new thread to get some comments on it...

When I look at the ISO 50 here - http://forum.xitek.com/forum-viewthread-tid-969110-extra-page%3D2-ordertype-2-t-1329014233.html

It looks so creamy smooth - even compared to ISO 100.

I'm not an expert in this but I've read that there should be a loss in IQ at ISO 50 as the base ISO is 100 and its just a trick to get to it? So even though it looks great noisewise perhaps it'll suffer in other ways - eg dynamic range or something? The sample doesn't have a lot of contrast so not good to see DR etc..

Would love to be able to use ISO 50 with no IQ hit as I'm mostly into low ISO landscapes...
