G13 at Photokina?

Here is what I read at Focus Numérique about G1X & G12:

“Sans remplacer le G12 (qui trouvera un héritier sans doute lors de la Photokina au mois de septembre), le G1X vient donc coiffer la gamme des Powershot”.

Translation:

“Without replacing the G12 (which will have without doubt a successor at Photokina in September), the G1X has come at the top of the Powershot range”.

What do you think about that? How probable is that Canon separates the G series in two categories such as the small sensored G models (around 500 USD) and the large sensored GX models (around 800 USD)?
