I've since "upgraded" to v 1.04 on my a65 , but seem to remember the "trick" working as follows:
lense on manual focus . set your aperture . V 1.03 will allow you to go below 3.5 .
turn camera off .
with camera still off , switch to auto focus on camera body .
turn camera on . You should now have auto focus and the aperture setting you had previously selected .

So it can only be done with lenses that have a dedicated AF/MF switch?
Hey Biggs,
No . You toggle the AF/MF switch on the camera body itself . As an a65 user , there is a slide switch on the lower front of the body . Not sure about the a77 switch location . I did see a AF/MF button on the rear of the a77 . Of course pushing this button will have no effect with the camera powered off .
