How good is the Nikon 70-200VRII compared to its Canon counterpart?

Hello,

After using a Canon 5D mark 2 for some years, I'm considering to switch back to Nikon.

I think I'd probably get a wide angle (14-24mm or 16-35mm), a 50mm 1.4 prime and a 70-200mm to start with.

I hear the Canon 70-200mm 2.8L IS II is really, really good.

So how does the Nikon compare to what Canon has?
