Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM vs. Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM

I just got the Sigma and am selling a Canon 17 – 85mm lens, since I very seldom used the 50 – 85mm range but do often shoot indoors or in low light. If you've got similar predilections, you'll want the Sigma. If you shoot primarily outside, or distant subjects, or like using a flash, get the Canon.
