I really like it. Technically I think it is very good. Whether shallow DOF is appropriate in this instance is highly subjective and I think it works well here. Those that insist that there are any hard and fast rules regarding studio photography (or any other type) are mistaken. In my opinion the best portraits are those that say something about the subject behind the purely physical. Your picture does that. I would be very happy to have taken it.
