Canon lags back..again

Removing the AA filter could be a stroke of genius from Nikon. We'll have to wait and see how it pans out, but which ambitous photographer doesn't want sharper photos,
whatever moire compromises and problems.
I wonder if Canon can do that on a 7D replacement, with a smaller chip?
