AMB does indeed something similar like HHT. But their goals are different. HHT aims at low noise and sacrifices shutter speed. AMB aims at sharp movements and sacrifices noise.

With HHT your low light image will have low noise, but moving subjects will be blurred. This is because HHT goes for longer exposures to enable small ISO values that have less noise.

With AMB your low light image will have sharp moving subjects, but where there is movement, there will be more noise. This is because AMB goes for higher ISO values in order to use faster shutter speeds. Some of the noise will be cancelled out because it takes multiple exposures, but where there is movement you will see noise.
