I believe this only works for the E-300 and E-330 which were designed so that the FL-36 and the pop-up flash can work together (and even have separate controls for the power level of the pop-up vs. the FL-36). No other Olympus DSLR or Pen supports this, because the pop-up flash blocks the hot-shoe.

This also works fine on the E-P3. (I'm pretty sure I can also control the power level of the pop-up flash vs. the FL-36, but I don't have the flash with me right now, so can't check.) It doesn't work with the FL-300R, though, because it blocks the pop-up flash.
