You have to remember that 17mm is at the upper edge of wide angle lens. The Tamron 10-24 for instance. You ARE going to start having some pincushion at 17mm. With a "c" sensor anything less than 24/25mm is wide angle whereas with a full sensor (35mm) wide angle begins at about 35mm. 35mm for a "c" sensor is what we used to refer to as "normal" and anything above that was telephoto.
